Faculty of Economics and Business Administration

History

            Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Thaksin University is the first higher education institute in the south of Thailand, which operated in 1990 with a 4-year Bachelor of Economics (B.Econ) program and a 2-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA.) program in accounting and program in marketing. At that time, B.Econ was in the department of economics and BBA. program in accounting and program in marketing were in the department of business administration, faculty of social science, Srinakharinwirot University, Southern Campus.

           On November 1, 1995 Srinakharinwirot University, Southern Campus was renamed as Thaksin University and is considered as equal to a juristic person as a department in Ministry of University Affairs. At that time department of economics and department of business administration were merged and renamed as department economics and business administration, faculty of humanity and social science.

  Later, the Thaksin University Council in the convention of 5/2546 session on September 20^t, 2003 had approved to the set up the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. More than 2 decades that Faculty of Economics and Business Administration has continually developed. Presently, 2 Graduated degrees, including (1) Doctor of business administration program in business management: D.B.A. (Business management), (2) Master of business administration: D.B.A. (Business management), and 5 undergraduate degrees were operated, (1) Bachelor of Economics (B.Econ.), (2) Bachelor of Accountancy (B.Acc.), (3) Bachelor of Business Administration program in marketing: BBA. (Marketing) (4)  Bachelor of Business Administration program in entrepreneurship and management: BBA. (Entrepreneurship and management) (35) Bachelor of Business Administration program in modern trade business management: BBA. (Modern trade business management). The faculty follows the philosophy of  “Intelligence and Ethics guide Economics Development”.
